Drive by day.
Sleep inside at night.
A compact 4×4 for Iceland with a two-person sleeping setup inside the car. No rooftop tent to unfold and no large campervan to drive — just park, set up your bed and settle in.

Your bed travels inside your 4×4.
The rear seats fold down and the back of the Duster becomes a compact sleeping area for one or two travellers.
No tent setup
Park, arrange the mattress and your sleeping space is ready.
Protected from weather
Sleep inside the vehicle instead of being exposed in a tent.
Compact to drive
Easy to park and handle compared with a large campervan.
4×4 flexibility
More route options when suitable F-roads are open.

This is what the bed actually looks like.
This is a real BlackSheep sleep-in-the-back setup, viewed from the open tailgate. The mattress sections fill the rear of the Duster while the front seats remain in place.
Simple, sheltered and ready for a road trip — without carrying a campervan around Iceland.
The mattress is approximately 190 cm long, around 100 cm wide at the rear and widens to approximately 135 cm further forward.

Bed at night.
Up to 5 seats by day.
When you are ready to sleep, fold the rear seats and set up the mattress. During the day, pack the mattress away and return the rear seats to their normal position.
The Duster can then carry up to five people. For a camping trip, luggage and equipment naturally use some cargo space, so two travellers get the easiest and most comfortable setup.
The Duster feels at home in Iceland.
Compact enough for narrow roads and small campsites, with 4×4 and good ground clearance for gravel roads and changing weather. Easy to park, economical on fuel and roomy enough to sleep in.

Go beyond the standard rental-car route.
A sleep-in Duster keeps the compact-car feeling while giving you the flexibility of a proper 4×4 underneath you.
Permitted on suitable Icelandic F-roads when officially open and conditions allow.
Useful ground clearance for gravel roads and remote destinations.
Compact enough for normal parking, towns and campsites.
Always check road and weather conditions. Off-road driving is illegal in Iceland, and water damage is not covered by insurance.

F-road suitability depends on the route, official opening and current conditions. Never assume that every F-road or river crossing is appropriate for the vehicle.

Dacia Duster Sleep in the Back FAQ
The practical questions worth answering before you book.
Can you really sleep inside a Dacia Duster?
Yes. BlackSheep Dusters are configured with a fold-out rear mattress. The setup is intended for one or two travellers.
How big is the mattress?
Approximately 190 cm long, around 100 cm wide at the rear and widening to approximately 135 cm further forward.
Is the mattress completely flat?
The setup is designed to be comfortable for sleeping, but it may not be perfectly level in every position. Moving the front seats forward can help create the full sleeping length and fit the mattress correctly.
How many people can sit in the Duster during the day?
When the mattress is packed away and the rear seats are upright, the Duster can seat up to five people. For camping, two travellers have the easiest setup because luggage and camping gear also need space.
Is it warmer than a rooftop tent?
Sleeping inside the vehicle gives you more protection from wind and rain than an exposed tent setup. Actual comfort still depends on outdoor temperature, clothing and sleeping gear.
Can I drive it on F-roads?
Suitable BlackSheep Dacia Duster 4×4 campers are permitted on suitable F-roads when the roads are officially open and conditions allow. Check current road and weather information before travelling.
What is included?
Sleeping gear, cooking equipment, a cooling box, cleaning basics and a 220V campsite heater are included. Chairs and a table are included outside the winter season.
Does the heater work without campsite electricity?
No. The included electric heater requires a 220V campsite electricity connection.
